Confrontation Between Student and Professor at Portland State University Raises Questions About School Security, Guns on Campus
From "Confrontation Between Student and Professor at Portland State University Raises Questions About School Security, Guns on Campus" by Bryan Denson and Noelle Crombie, The Oregonian, March 6, 2010

An economics professor at Portland State University was suspended after denouncing a student as a government informant and killer. Professor John Hall also reported to school police that the student, Zachary Bucharest, was carrying a gun on campus, and sent a letter to the FBI asking whether Bucharest was an agent provocateur. Months earlier, Bucharest had given a presentation in Hall's class concerning combat rifles and brought in a disassembled weapon as a visual aid. The university prohibits firearms on campus, but no one in the class reported the incident. Campus administrators said that Hall dishonored the university and violated Bucharest's privacy. The administration is investigating Bucharest's complaints about Hall, and campus security is investigating Hall's complaint that Bucharest carried firearms on campus.
