Stolen Indiana State Laptop Returned to Professor

A laptop stolen from an Indiana State University professor containing personal information on more than 2,500 current and former students was mailed back anonymously to the professor six days after being taken. At the time of the theft, the professor was traveling with his family in southern Indiana. The password-protected laptop contained data such as names, grades, e-mail addresses, and Social Security numbers, but was not breached, according to analysis. Nevertheless, the university is alerting students whose personal information was on the laptop.
