- 3 Shot at Phoenix College; Suspect Arrested
From the article of the same name by: Billeaud, Jacques and Kahn, Chris Associated Press - At South Mountain Community College in Phoenix on July 24, a former student entered a computer lab and shot three individuals, leaving one of them critically injured. The suspect was arrested at a home a few miles away just 30 minutes after the first 911 call was placed. One witness said the gunman was arguing with two men before he pulled the trigger. The college was in lockdown for approximately an hour following the incident. At the time of the shooting, about 20 to 30 individuals were in the computer lab, which the public has access to, and around 300 people were on campus.
